PATRICK MULCAHY DIED LAST NIGHT

WAS PIONEER OF NEW ALBANY TOWNSHIP--FATHER OF ELEVEN CHILDREN

Colo, Oct. 22--Patrick Mulcahy, 86, pioneer of New Albany township, southeast of Colo, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Hamm at Armour, S. D., Tuesday at about midnight, according to word reaching relatives here today.

The body will be brought back to Colo and the funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church Friday morning at 10 o'clock, after which interment will be in the Catholic cemetery here. Services will be in charge of his pastor, Fr. M Nichols of Nevada and his son Fr. Dan Mulcahy of Bernard.

Mr. Mulcahy, who had lived in this community for many years, leaves eight living children. They are Father Dan Mulcahy of Bernard, Carl Mulcahy of Chicago, Frank Mulcahy and Eva Mulcahy of Des Moines, Margaret Mulcahy who had always remained at home with the father, Mrs. Charles Hamm of Armour and Mrs. Clark Stark of southeast of Colo, and John Mulcahy of near State Center.

Mrs. Mulcahy has been dead for many years, a son James died a few years ago and others dead are Mrs. Tom McCoy, and Sister Virginia, the latter dying at Dubuque.

Mr. Mulcahy was a native of Limerick, Ireland, wher he was born June 26, 1844. He came to America as a young man and was united in marriage to Miss Julia Doyle, at Nevada in 1871.

Mr. Mulcahy had gone to Dakota a few months ago to attend the marriage of a granddaughter and while there was taken ill and death resulted.
