ELDER DORCAS DIED HERE EARLY TODAY

WELL KNOWN SVENTHDAY ADVENTIST WORKER CALLED BY HIS MASTER

J. W. Dorcas, 71, died at his home at 1024 First street this morning 2:30. He had been ill for past sic months, but had seemed to be improving and was not confined to his bed until Wednesday of last week, when heart trouble which had been with him since a severe attack of the "flu" several years ago developed alarmingly and made recovery impossible. The funeral service will be held at the Adventists Church Tuesday at 2:00 p. m.

Mr. Dorcas was born near Tipton, Cedar County, Iowa, June 6, 1859. He was united in marriage July 13, 1882, with Flora V. Field. Only one child was born to this union, Mrs. Nellie M. Dwier of Des Moines. Those left to mourn at his wife, daughter and three grandchildren, Harlan J. and Rowena Dwier of Des Moines and Mrs. Joelle Youngblood of Corydon, three brothers, Charles A., who had made his home with him for the past seven years, Edward Dorcas of Lisbon, Iowa, Josiah Dorcas of Denver, Colorado, and a host of friends everywhere.

Mr. Dorcas had been a worker in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination for many years, occupying various positions of trust and was greatly beloved wherever known.

Mr. and Mrs. Dorcas came to Nevada and settled in their home on First street, at the time of coming of Iowa sanitarium and the Iowa Conference headquarters to Nevada, over a score of years ago and since that time have formed a wide circle of friends in Nevada, not only among the people of their own denomination, but of other people as well.

They have both been greatly respected and held in the highest of esteem by those with whom they have came in contact, and Mrs. Dorcas and the aged brother of the deceased, will be especially extended the warmest sympathy by their neighbors and friends in their hours of deep sorrow.
