R. W. PECK DIED AT ROLAND TODAY
WAS PIONEER CITIZEN OF NORTHERN PART OF STORY COUNTY

Roland, Oct. 9--R. W. Peck, 81, died at his home here early today after several months illness, during which time he had suffered from heart trouble.Mr. Peck, a native of Vermont, where he was born January 1, 1849, had lived in Story county during the larger part of his life, coming out to Iowa in 1858.
He was married first to Miss Endora Grace at Belle Plaine in 1871. To this union four children were born that survive the parents. They are Mrs. C. H. Beach of Minneapolis, Ray Peck of near Roland, Willard Peck of near Forest City and Mrs. I. M. Nerem of Minnesota.
After the death of his first wife he as married again; this being in 1904, when he was united in marriage to Sarah E. Graham, at Albia, who, with his four children and other relatives survive him.
There will be a brief service at the home in Roland Saturday afternoon at 1:00, with the funeral proper at the Presbyterian church in McCallsburg with W. O. Benthin, Presbyterian pastor at Nevada, in charge. The service at Roland will bey by Rev. Holem of Salem chruch. Interment will be in the McCallsburg cemetery.
The deceased was a brother of John Peck, longtime resident of McCallsburg, and has a general acquaintance over this part of the county.
