LOCAL WOMAN IS AGAIN BEREAVED
S. N. SKAARUP DEAD FROM GAS IN HIS HOME AT CLINTON
S. N. Skaarup, 41, brother of Mrs. J. W. Larsen, of 1115 Seenth st., Nevada, died at his home in Clinton, some time Sunday, according to word reaching his sister here.
Mr. Skaarup, manager of the Western Union Telephone company at Clinton, was last seen Saturday night. Mrs. Skaarup and the three daughters are at Waterloo. When he failed to show up for work Monday morning a messenger was sent down to the home. Finding it locked, he reported the matter to the police and when the officers entered they found the man lying wrapped in a blanket on a table, the room filled with gas.
An examination indicated that he had been dead for many hours.
No cause for his suicide is known. The funeral services will be held at Cedar Falls on Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Skaarup had been in Nevada at the time of the death of his mother a months ago, as well as once since that time.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. J. W. Larsen" was Anna E. Skaarup who married J. Walter Larsen on 7 October 1908 at Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Samuel Skaarup and Anna E. (Skaarup) Larsen were children of Jens Skaarup and Marie Sorensen.
