Radcliffe Postmaster Is Called by Death

Radcliffe, June 21--Word was received here of the death Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis of Postmaster George Sampson, of Radcliffe, one of the pioneer residents and early day merchants of the town. Mr. Sampson died at the home of his son, A. O. Sampson, where he was taken three weeks ago for treatment of a nervous ailment. He suffered a stroke of paralysis a week ago which hastened his death.

Mr. Sampson was past 70 years old. He came to Radcliffe as a young man more that forty years ago and was one of the early day merchants of the town, conducting a small general store. He had been postmaster for the last six years. Besides his wife his is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ed Johnson of Radcliffe, and three sons, A. O. and Gearhart Sampson, of Minneapolis, and Swen of Prosser, Washington.

Thd body was brought here Thursday evening and funeral services were held at 1:30 this afternoon.
