Gilbert Woman Died on Sunday

Special to the Journal.
Gilbert, June 10--Mrs. J. W. O'Bryant, 67, former resident of Gilbert, died at the Story County Home near Nevada, Sunday afternoon, June 8. Heart disease was the cause of death.

The funeral was held at the Congregational church in Gilbert today at 2:30, after which interment was in the Gilbert cemetery. The service was in charge of Rev. J. P. Himmel.

Narcissus Thomas was born in Kentucky in 1862. With her parents she moved to Berlin, Ill., in 1880. On April 30, 1894, she was married to J. W. O'Bryant at Berlin. In 1915 they moved to Gilbert where they farmed for five years, then they bought a restaurant in Gilbert. Here they lived until Mr. O'Bryant's death in 1928. After his death she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ed Knouse, until March 1, 1930 when she entered the county home. Mrs. O'Bryant leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ed Knouse of Gilbert and Mrs. Harry Catlett of Ames; 5 step children, J. W. O'Bryant of Gilbert, W. A. O'Bryant of Ft. Dodge, Lee O'Bryant of West Liberty, Mrs. Emma Houghan of Peoria, Ill., a brother, W. A. Thomas of Little Rock, Ark., and sister, Mrs. Thomas Riddle of Ipswich, S. D.
