GEORGE ALLEN DEAD; BODY HERE TODAY

HAD BEEN LIVING AT GAS CITY, KANSAS FOR PAST TEN YEARS

George Allen, 84, long-time resident of Story county, died Wednesday at this home at Gas City, Kansas.

The body, accompanied by relatives will arrive in Nevada this evening and be taken at once to the Bishop Funeral home where the services will be held Friday afternoon, after which interment will be at Center Grove cemetery, near Elwell.

Mr. Allen, for many years a farmer of near Collins, moved to Nevada and lived at the corner of Eighth and G avenue for a number of years. About ten years ago he disposed of his property here and moved to Gas City near Iola in Kansas, where he was married and where he has since been living.

He leaves besides his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Mason of Nevada, a son Sidney Allen who is at Gas City, another son Edw. Allen who is in Iowa, a brother Fred Allen of Gas City and 8 grand children.

The deceased was well-known in Nevada and around Collins and in other parts of Story county.
