FORMER ROLAND WOMAN VICTIM OF AUTO ACCIDENT

Mrs. O. J. Orton, Sister of Former Senator Skromme Died Sunday

Roland, April 21--Mrs. O. J. Orton, 55, died at her home at Ortley S. D., Sunday night from the effects of injuries sustained in a motor car accident, the particulars of which have not been received by relatives here, today.

One of the sons, Clarence Orton, who has been in Roland this spring, left for Ortley last night and other relatives will leave for there to attend the funeral as soon as further particulars are learned.

She is the mother of ten children and leaves besides these and her husband, her aged parents, three brothers and two sisters. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. Skromme of Roland, the sisters, Mrs. Jacob Ericson and Miss Carrie Skromme of Roland and the brothers, Severt Skromme of Chicago, Lars J. and Ole Skromme of Roland.

It was on Easter, just a year ago yesterday that work reached here of the sudden death of another sister, Mrs. George Pulver at Comopolis, Wash., who died following a surgical operation.

Mrs. Orton was the eldest sister of Lars J. Skromme, former state senator, and a daughter of on of the pioneer families of west Warren township. She was well-known in the Roland community. She had lived in South Dakota for many years and it was there that she had raised her large family of children.
