RETIRED FOREIGN MISSIONARY DEAD

F. F. SCHULTE PASSED AWAY HERE SUNDAY--FUNERAL AT DAVENPORT

F. F. Schulte, 58, retired Foreign Missionary and a resident of Nevada for about four weeks died at Iowa Sanitarium, Nevada, early Sunday and the body was taken today to Davenport, where the funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon from the Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery there.

Mr. Schulte who came here in March to engage in the grocery business since at 1204 Main Street, had been a resident of Davenport for several years and had been active in German Lutheran Church circles.

Born Franz Fredrick Schulte at Frankfort [sic], Germany, January 25, 1872, he died at Nevada, Iowa, April 20, 1930, age 58 years, 2 months and 25 days, of chronic myocardietis.

Ordained in the ministry at Frankfort [sic] he preached first in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of that city. Later he spent some years in the missionary field, being located in turn in China, India and the Gold Coast of Africa.

Coming to America in 1906 he was engaged in Inner Missionary work among the German Lutherans of Montana for a number of years and later served various churches inn Iowa and South Dakota. For the past seven years he had been located at Davenport.

His first wife passing away May 5, 1938, he was later remarried.

He leaves his second wife, his eleven children. They are Mrs. William Blunk of Davenport, Carl a student in the theological department of a seminary at Dubuque; Rudolph Schulte, a student at Ann Arbor, Mich.; Mrs. V. F. Browne of Davenport; Martin Schulte, now at sea; Amelia Schulte of Chicago, Magdeline, Charles and Godfred at Davenport; and Paul and Eleanor Schulte of Nevada.

The body, accompanied by the wife and children left here today for Davenport, going overland to Des Moines and from there over the Rock Island.
