Maxwell's Oldest Citizen Was Buried Wednesday

Special to the Journal.
Maxwell, April 4--Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock for Mrs. Bertha Burnson, 94, Maxwell's oldest citizen and mother of Mrs. Sophia Longnecker, who died Sunday eveneing at the home of the grand daughter, Mrs. C. I. Kirk. The rites were held at the Kirk home and wer in charge of her pastor, Rev. Hugh C. Guy of the Church of Christ, who was assisted by Rev. DeLoss Marken of Des Moines, a former pastor. Burial was made in the Maxwell cemetery.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Sophia Longnecker's marriage record states her mother's maiden name was Brenlina Hansen. In the 1925 census, Sophia lists her mother as what appears to be Lina Lusson.
