Paul David Frey, born to Sherman and Virginia Frey August 4,1954, passed away unexpectedly suddenly April 21,2018. He married Cathy Couser from Nevada, Iowa, in 1978. Paul retired after 23 years from the seed industry as CEO of Alforex Seeds in 2014, returning to Iowa to be near family again.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th Street) in Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy, daughters Rebecca (J) Winkowski and Amanda (Daniel) Crody and 6 grandchildren, Anya, Cora, Grayson, baby Winkowski, Damien, Dakota; Brother Joel Frey of Aplington, Iowa, sister Jolene (Red) Dreesman of Parkersburg and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Paul loved working outdoors on projects and spending time at the family cabin in Canada, fishing and feeling blessed by Gods creation. He returned to playing guitar with good friends in California and continued in retirement as part of the Music Ministry team at Prairie Ridge Church in Ankeny, a life long dream come true. He loved being Papa to his amazing grandchildren that were the lights of his life. Bicycling the local trails was he and Cathy's new adventure together to bask in Gods Blessings. His genuine love for his family and friends was indescribable, truly a servant to the world.

He graduated from Aplington High School, and graduated from Iowa State University in 1976 as an Agronomist. He worked diligently with farmers and seed companies domestically and around the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
