Dennis Rueben Britson, 59, of Marshalltown passed away on March 29th at the Iowa River Hospice House surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born on February 2nd 1959, in Story City, Iowa. He was the son of Rueben and Frances (Kvietkauskas) Britson. Dennis grew up on the family farm near McCallsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Nesco High School in 1977.He went on to become an electrician. Working for several electrical companies around the state of Iowa and teaching classes at ABC School in Des Moines. As his career progressed he become an expert industrial electrician and helped with some of the first wind turbines installed in Iowa. He ended his career at PCA in Marshalltown.
His farming roots never left and he loved to garden and continued to raise a few pigs for friends and family yearly. He enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends; his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, spoiling them as much as possible.
Left to cherish Dennis’ memory are his wife Cynthia, his children, Dan (Jamie) Frost of Norwalk, Iowa, Sean (Allison) Frost of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Scott Britson of Garner, Iowa. Eleven grandchildren Mikayla, Julia, Luke, and Sarah Frost, Taylor McDonald, Saige, Grace, and Presley Frost, Emma Johnson, Drew and Sadie Britson. His sisters Sandra (Ric) Lutz of Firth Ne, Linda (Brad) Jones of Story City, Iowa, and brother Kenneth Britson of Ames, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rueben and Frances, brother Edward, nephew Kyle, and In-laws Darlo and Joyce Long.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., with a public visitation held on Tuesday, April 3, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, from 5-7 p.m.
