Agnes Jacobs, 97, passed away peacefully and joined her heavenly father at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA on April 5, 2018 after living with Multiple Myloma Cancer for more then 10 years.
Agnes Mae Bullock was born on a farm south of Colo, IA on June 15, 1920 to Thomas H. and Elnora (Wilkening) Bullock. She graduated from Colo H.S. in 1939. On Sept. 6, 1940, Agnes married Bertrum Charles Jacobs, and from this union three daughters were born: Ruth Ann, Diana and Sharon Ann. They were married for 56 years.
Agnes worked full time for Graphic Forms for 38 years as a Bindery Supervisor; but always found time to have supper with her children, teaching them by example the values of family, education, religion and work. Her family was her life. She enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, rodeos and traveling.
Agnes belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary Moose Lodge of Ames, DAR and Country Music Jams. She enjoyed dancing at Lake Robbins and was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church since the time when it was at the 8th St. location.
Agnes is survived by her daughters Ruth (Ron Sr.) Prather of Braddyville; Diana Slutz and Sharon Jacobs both of Nevada; grandchildren Ron Jr. and Ramona Prather, Charles Prather, Mike and Angela Prather and Shawn Furman and fiance Jessica Tongay; 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bert, brother Thomas Bullock and grandson Wade Furman.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church In Nevada with burial to follow at the Hillside Cemetery in State Center.
