Funeral services for Albert E. Christian were held on Wednesday at the Bergen Lutheran church in Roland with the Rev. A. E. Nelson officiating. Otto Hanson sang "Just As I Am" and "Under His Wings" during the service.

Mrs. Julius Christian and Mrs. Cyrus Christian were in charge of the floral offerings. Burial was in the Roland cemetery.

Albert E. Christian, son of Ole and Jorna Christian was born on a farm near Helmer, Ill., on March 11, 1873 and passed away at the St. Peter hospital, St. Peter, Minn., on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the age of 81 years six months and seven days. He was baptized by the Rev. Rasmuson in the Lutheran church in Helmer, Ill. and was confirmed by the Rev. Johnson in the Bergen Lutheran chuch in Roland.

When he was eight years old, he moved with his parents to the Christian homestead three miles south of Roland. He farmed for a number of years and then moved to Roland where he was a stock buyer. He lived with his widowed mother until she passed away. He then purchased a farm near Elmore, Minn., and was engaged in farming for many years. He sold his farm and moved to Elmore where he made his home until he suffered a stroke of paralysis more than three years ago and was taken to the hospital in St. Peter., Minn., where he passed away last Saturday.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alice Munson of Story City and Mrs. Emma Erickson of Roland, and two brothers, John of Roland and Henry of Kenyon, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Cass, Tom, Charles, and Olef and one sister, Jane, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for the funeral service were Sam Eggland, Hansel Christian, Floyd Christian, Leonard Christian, Henry Erickson and Olef Munson.

Relatives and friends from a distance attending the funeral were from Minneapolis, Frost, Blue Earth, and Elmore, Minn.; Story City, Colo, Nevada, Ames, Slater, McCallsburg, Garden City and Radcliffe.
