Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Hilda Hilker 92, of Boone, passed away February 21, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, February 26, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.

Hilda Hilker was born May 15, 1925 in Manchester, England to George and Jane (Blemmings) Healey. Hilda grew up in England moving to the United States in 1946 to the Ames area. Hilda worked for Collegiate Manufacturing as a seamstress and later for Hach chemical in Ames. While still living in England Hilda’s seamstress skills were used for sewing uniforms during the war. Hilda married Dale Hilker in 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska. She enjoyed fishing, square and polka dancing and playing practical jokes on people. Hilda’s true love was for her family.

Hilda is survived by two daughters, Janice Overland of Gilbert, Marsha (Jim) Linder of Ames; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one brother, Harold Healey of England.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale and son-in-law Dick Overland.
