Sheila Ann (Johnson) Sabin, Nevada, IA, daughter of Robert and Ethel (Stock) Johnson was born March 13, 1948 and her journey in this life ended January 9, 2018 at the age of 69 surrounded by her family at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA, after a long battle and complications of ovarian cancer.

Sheila married Jerry Sabin of Baxter, IA on May 10, 1966 and later moved to Nevada, IA, where they lived for more than 48 years.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Nevada; a daughter, Connie Sabin of Ames and James Ball (former spouse) and their two sons Ross and Tom Ball of Nevada; a son, David (Amy) Sabin of Green Bay, WI and their two sons Dylan and Logan Sabin of Green Bay, WI, and mother-in-law Lorene Sabin of Baxter, IA, along with numerous brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Sheila was preceded in death by both of her parents, two sisters, two brothers and her father-in-law.

Sheila and Jerry were perpetual donors to the Ronald McDonald House in Des Moines, IA, regularly donating baby quilts, volunteering for events or providing support during their annual events since 1986. Jerry plans to continue supporting and volunteering at the RMH in the future.

The family has chosen to have an intimate gathering with her husband, children and grandchildren at a later date. There will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, plants, or gifts, please send monetary donations to: The Ronald McDonald House, in memory of Sheila A. Sabin, 1441 Pleasant St, Des Moines, IA 50314.

A “Special Thanks” to all the staff at the Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley Hospital for their support and efforts during the last 6 years. We will always remember the kindness, care and support provided by the staff at the Israel Family Hospice House.
