Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

James Milo Helland was born on May 22, 1921 to Joseph and Marie (Handahl) Helland. He married Grace Molde on February 7, 1942. He served in the US Air Force medical detachment from September 1942 to February 1946. James and Grace farmed in the Story County area from 1947 to 1984, when he retired.

James passed away January 19, 2018 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at the age of 96.

He is survived by his wife Grace; two children, Jeraldine (Gary) Davis and Gary (Ruth) Helland; four grandchildren, Catheryn Wright, Blake (Jenni) Davis, Kimberly Helland and Todd (Jill) Helland; five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Evelyn.
