Carol Jean Lumpkins Fields, 84 of Higginsville, Missouri died on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.

Born Wednesday, May 24, 1933 in Eureka, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Harry Rockley and the late Alice Ruth Raber Rockley.

She married Henry Clay Lumpkins on March 21, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She married Deroy Fields in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a former mayor and city clerk while living in Nickerson Kansas. She also lived in Ames Iowa where she owned and operated a Christian Book Store. She moved to Higginsville in 2008. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Alan Lumpkins of Higginsville; one daughter, Nicki Olvera of Higginsville; three grandchildren, James (Jenni) Olvera, Sarah Erdman and Jonathan (Brina) Olvera.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; two brothers, Sam Rockley and Thomas Rockley; two sisters, Maxine Johnson and Wilma Swaggart

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Biesemeyer officiating, Rev. Terry Cook, assisting and Sharon Pragman, organist.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Grace United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be sent to The Baby Grace Program.
