Sharon Kay Twedt
December 3, 1939 - September 16, 2017

Sharon Kay Twedt was born on December 3, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ila (Towers) and Russell Phelps on December 3, 1939. She went to high school at Ankeny High School and graduated in 1957. Sharon worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years, retiring from Iowa State University. She married Bob Twedt on June 7, 1958 in Ankeny, Iowa. She was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church.

Sharon was always the “hostess with the mostess” as entertaining friends and family was her favorite past time. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and shopping and was always up for a new adventure. Over the past few years of her life she was unable to dance; today she dances in the heavens and rejoices with loved ones who have gone before her.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her best friend and partner Gary Newton, her children, Rhonda(Kevin) Williamson of Des Moines; two sons, Dan (Roxanna) Twedt of Cherokee, Iowa and Brian (Vickie) Twedt of Clovis, California. A brother, Larry (Donita) Phelps of Grundy Center; Nine granddaughters, Nichole, Danielle(Matt), Kate (Johnnie), Crystal, Heather (Wally), Stephanie, Jessica, Ashley and Katie (Cameron); Nine grandsons, Brandon, Jason (Melinda), Nick, Brandon W, Carson, Brett (Jamie) Lance (Lia),Johnnie and Ethan. Seventeen great-grandchildren; Three great-great Grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Bob, infant brother Michael and her parents Russ and Ila.
