Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Evon Trcka, 83, of Ames, passed away September 14, 2017 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames IA. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 18, also at Bethesda Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Evon Rae Trcka was born October 17, 1933 to Pete and Edythe (Hill) Frette in McCallsburg, IA. She graduated from Roland High School in 1951. On August 28, 1955, Evon married Frank Trcka at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, IA.

Evon worked as a homemaker, as well as working and retiring from JC Penney and Wells Fargo. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church active in Book Club, Women's Ministry and Small Group Bible Study, and was a leader in the Camp Fire Girls. Evon was also a member of the Ames Woman's Club, the Iowa State University Alumni Association and Century Club, and the Sons of Norway.

Evon was a season ticket holder for both ISU Men's and Women's basketball, and was an usher at ISU football games for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden, completing puzzles, and traveling. Evon lived life in an enthusiastic and caring way and rarely missed one of her children's or grandchildren's activities.

Evon is survived by her children, Frank E. (Marleah) Trcka of Washington, IA., Sue (Tim) Taege of Ames, IA., Kathy (Randy) Auel of Ames, IA. and Patty (Daryl) Taylor of Hudson, IA. her grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyler) Thomsen, Rachel (Ben) Wiuff, Luke Taege, Breanna Taege, Michele (Jacob) Elson, Sara (JD) TeBockhorst, Ashley (Nick) Chardoulias, Cory Taylor, Daniel (Jessica) Auel and Nicole Auel; nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Joel (Sheri) Frette; her sister, Helene (Terry) Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Frank.
