From Nevada Representative December 12, 1913 (front page)

J. W. Keigley

J. W. Keigley of Boone died at his home there Monday evening and his funeral was conducted there Thursday. He was a son of old John Keigley, who was the original settler in the western part of the county in 1851 and who gave his name to the Keigley branch and became the father of all the numerous tribe of Keigleys in this part of the country. The son now deceased was 65 years of age and must therefore have been about three year old when his father settled in the county in 1851. He grew up in the county but when he was grown he settled in Boone county, where he has generally had his home, moving in later years to the city of Boone. He was the father of Mrs. Harry Soper of this place, and she was with him in the last weeks of his life. There were also up from Nevada to the funeral, Mr. Soper, his sister, Mrs. Ray Brown and Mrs. J. W. McConkie.
