OBITUARY

J. M. DAWSON

James M. Dawson, sell known citizen of the county died last evening in the home in this city of his daughter, Mrs. C. E. Markland after a week's illness. This occasion of his death was apoplexy, with which he had been unconscious since soon afterwards. His stroke was obviously fatal, and his death surprises those only who had not learned of his condition.

Mr. Dawson was 78 years of age and came to this county form McLean county, Illinois, in 1892. He located in Grant township and lived there until after the death of his wife in 1896, since which time he had lived chiefly in Nevada. He leaves eight children, of whom two daughters live in Illinois, two in Nebraska, and in this vicinity, Mrs. Markland of Nevada and the three sons, Ethan at Zearing, Frank at Story City and Bert at Indianola, by all of whom with many other relatives and friends he will be much mourned.

The funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church Wednesday at two-thirty by Dr. D. J. Bunce, assisted by Rev. Birdie Batchelor.
