MRS. THOS. HEMSTOCK.
Louisa C. Randall was born Jan. 27, 1845 at Rochelle, Ill. departed this life Aug. 21, 1912, at the age of 69 years 6 months and 24 day. he is survived by three sons, all of whom are present and a girl Mary E. whom she has reared from infancy, also live sisters and three brothers, but only one sister, Mrs. Lura R. Gilmore of York, Nebraska, was permitted to be present in her last sickness.
At the age of 12 years she was bereft of a mother and being the eldest of seven children she was left the care of the smaller ones which duty she cheerfully performed. She was married Jan. 7, 1867 to Thomas Hemstock at Oregon, Ill. Immediately after their marriage the young couple came to Story County, Iowa and located on a farm that Mr. Hemstock had purchased in the fall before and on this farm they resided until their death a period of 4 years.
To this union were born 4 sons, one of whom died in infancy, the other three having grown to manhood are Willard P., Anthony V. and Burney B.
She united when quite young with the Methodist Episcopal Church and was always very active in all lines of Church work and particularly in that of the Jefferson Aid Society.
