Obituary From Mitchell Funeral Home, Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.

Darrin Potter, 47, of Collins, Iowa formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at home in Collins, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. July 29, 2017, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. For condolences or questions please visit: www.mitchellfh.com. Darrin Etienne Potter was born on September 21, 1969 in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of James Delwin and Cynthia (Wilson) Potter. Darrin attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District graduating with the class of 1989. On October 23, 1993, Darrin was united in marriage to Tammy Sprague at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown. They were blessed with two children, Trent and Kaylee, they later divorced. Darrin was born with Spina Bifida but he never let that determine his life, he worked as a mechanic until he no longer could work. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with all his family, especially his children and granddaughter, Amelia. Darrin had always been a strong supporter of the Spina Bifida Association to help others.

Left to honor Darrin’s memory are his children, Trent Alan Potter of Marshalltown, Iowa and Kaylee Shannon Potter of Nevada, Iowa, granddaughter, Amelia Farrah Brown, his mother, Cynthia Clark of Collins, Iowa, brother, Scott Potter of Marshalltown, many nieces, nephews and many friends, step-brothers, Kyle and Chris Clark.

In death Darrin rejoins his father, James Delwin, brother, James Dean, stepfather, David Ken Clark, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
