Mary Florence Wallingford, 78 of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Mary was born September 23, 1938, the daughter of Clarence I. and Florence D. (Flowers) Young. She worked many years in housekeeping at the Story County Hospital and enjoyed embroidery, watching tv (especially Criminal Minds) and playing Bingo.

Mary is survived by her children: Terry Young (Pedro Dominguez) of Modesto, CA and Teresa Wallingford (Craig Daschendorf) of Elkhart, IA; four grandchildren: Bonnie Young, Collin Young, Travis Stevens and Tyler (Natasha) Young; her brother, William (Joyce) Young; and her sisters: Sharon Hunter of Nevada and Ilo Hetrick of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Doug Young; her sisters: Leona Kohutanycz, Dorothy Harry and Elizabeth Christianson; and her brothers: John Young, Fred Young and Bob Young.

Mary has been cremated and no services are planned.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
