John Arthur Samuelson was born July 23, 1962 to Robert and Janice (Peltier) Samuelson in Muscatine Iowa. John attended schools in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Ames, graduating from Wilson-Beardshear in 1983. John worked through Mainstream Living for Sundstrand-Sauer-Danfoss, and then at Target for 28 years, retiring in 2014.

John passed away at 54 years of age on June 21, 2017 at his home in Ames.

John is survived by his parents, Robert and Janice Samuelson of Ames; his brothers, Jim (Jane) Samuelson of Mound, Minn. and Mark (Suzanne) Samuelson of Omaha, Neb.; his sister, Peggy (Jerry) Ulicki of Fort Dodge; his nieces, Jessica Samuelson, Becky (Bryan) Smouse and Janae Ulicki and her fiancé Kyle Hewitt; and his nephew, Jerod (Katherine) Ulicki.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Jordan Ulicki.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be addressed to Mainstream Living, Friendship Ark, or a charity of your choice.

After the committal, everyone is invited to Northcrest Communities for refreshments.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
