Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Myrtle P. Harper, 92, of Story City died June 2, 2017 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 6 at 11 am at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Radcliffe. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery.

Myrtle was born on June 16, 1924 near Roland, Iowa to Harvey and Stella (Durby) Nassen. She married Harlan Harper on September 1, 1946. He died November 30, 2003.

Myrtle is survived by three daughters, Sharon Basart of Romulus, MI, Paulette Wathen of Lincoln, NE and Ann (David) Slabaugh of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Harlan (Audrey) Nassen of Suntree, FL and a sister-in-law, Elaine Nassen of Highlands Ranch, Co.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan; two son-in-laws, Ed Wathen and Wayne Babcock; two sisters, Ruby Triggs and Marie McClain and a brother, Paul Nassen.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church or the Radcliffe Garden Club.
