OBITUARY OF ED EGELAND

Passing of Well Known Mas of That Locality.

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Dec. 9--Ed Egeland was born in Roland on March 27, 1873, and died in the same city Dec. 3, 1918 from pneumonia and other complications following the flu. He was forty five years old. He was the youngest son of Nels and Betsey Egeland both of who are deceased.

He was united in marriage to Annie Opstvedt April 9, 1896. The first three years of their married life, they lived a farm seven miles northeast of Roland. Later they moved to a farm near Story City, then they bought a farm near McCallsburg. In the paring of 1917 he with his family moved to Roland where he was taken sick and died. He was engaged in buying livestock.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Egeland all of whom survive the father. They are, Noris, Inez, Sherman, Bridella, Ernest and Clarence. Besides his wife and family he leaves to mourn his death two brothers and four sisters, Osmund N. Egeland of this place, Engelbut of Story City, Mrs. Mary Erickson, Mrs. Olena Onstein and Mrs. J. T. Anderson of Story City and Mrs. Martha Barke of Canada. He was buried on Friday afternoon in the Roland cemetery.
