Death of R. W. Ballard

R. W. Ballard, one of the most noted men in Howard township history, died Sunday at his home in Story City at the ae of 82 years. Perhaps but a few men were better known over the county than R. W. Ballard. He served the county for a number of years as a member of the board of supervisors, and in this capacity his acquaintance was largely extended over the county. He took an enthusiastic interest in local and national politics, and in this line was said to be one the best posted men in the county. Recently he moved from his farm home in southeast Howard to Story City. He was a grand old man.
