Death of Abel Thompson.

Abel Thompson, son of Oscar Thompson* of this city, died at the home of his sister* near Fernald last week of heart failure. He was born at the Thompson farm south of Roland, thirty-five years ago, the latter years of his life being spent in Roland. He was a carpenter and contractor by trade, noted as a skilled workman and a young man of excellent character and reputation. A short service was held at the home of his sister after which the remains were brought here, the funeral sermon being preached by his pastor, Rev. Smedal.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Able/Abel Thompson was the son of Aslak "Oscar" Thompson and Ragnhild Jacobson. The sister referenced was probably Julia (Thompson) Anderson (Mrs. Andrew B. Anderson) who in the 1905 Story County census lived in Richland Township, where Fernald is located.
