DEATH OF MRS. LAN CENTER
Mrs. Anna Maud Center, wife of Lan Center, died at their home in this city Sunday afternoon aged 22 years, 9 months and 2 days. The cause of her death was appendicitis, following child-birth, her general condition not being such as to permit an operation. She had a little son born last Monday evening and was taken with appendicitis Tuesday. The child died Wednesday morning. Her condition varied during the next few days but was generally worse, and it was regarded as hopeless for some time before the end.
Anna Maud Smith was born at Mahomet, Illinois, June 12, 1884, and moved to Iowa about five years ago. She was married to Mr. Center June 9, 1904; and she leaves besides her husband, a son, her mother, a sister, and two brothers, the latter being Oscar and George Smith of this City. Mrs. Center was a most attractive and estimable young woman, and her death involves loss especially grievous to her family, relatives and friends. Her funeral will be conducted from the home Tuesday at two o'clock by the pastor of the Methodist church, Rev. R. E. Shaw.
