From Nevada Representative January 28, 1907

Mrs. Susan M. Latham of Ames died very suddenly at her home in than city Sunday morning, with the result that the program in district court here is materially affected. Mrs. Latham was formerly Mrs. Geo. P. Eastwood, and since the death of her former husband the family have been engaged in more or less litigation over the estate; and two cases, one by Mrs. Latham against her daughter, May Jane Crane, over property matters, and one by Mrs. Latham against the son-in-law, Edward A. Crane have been pending in the present term of court. The latter case was tried at the last term of court; but the verdict was unsatisfactory to both sides, and upon their joint motion the case was ordered for a new trial, which trial was to have begun today; and it was because of Judge Lee having been formerly an attorney in the case that he was to have changed off this week with Judge McHenry of the Des Moines. In view of Mrs. Latham's death this case, and the other one as well, will have to be postponed and because of the postponement Judge Lee will continued for this week to hold court here for himself instead of changing off with Judge McHenry.
