Death of a Pioneer.
George Shryock, died at the home of his son, O. M. Shryock, in Maxwell on the evening of Christmas day, 1906, aged 75 years, 4 months and 12 days. Mr. Shryock came to Iowa in 1863, and the later years of his busy life were spent in Rhodes. His wife and seven children survive him. The sons are Charles, now living in San Francisco, Fay and Lester, of Rhodes and Oliver M., of Maxwell. The daughters are Mrs. Blanche Crawford, of Rhodes, Mrs. Lulu Davis of Zearing and Mrs. Bertha Thompson of Scranton. Funeral services were held at Rhodes Thursday, and burial was in the Rhodes cemetery.
