OBITUARY
DEATH OF T. W. KELLY
T. W. Kelly died at his home two miles north west of Nevada at half past five Thursday morning aged 58 years, 1 month and 5 days. The immediate cause of his death was apoplexy, although he had long been in such poor health that his death, though sudden, does not occasion great surprise.
The deceased was born in Wheatland, Wisconsin, June 7, 1848 and died near Nevada, Iowa, July 12, 1906. he was a son of William and Susan Kelly, and he came with them to Story county in 1867 and located on the farm where his parents in succession, several others of their children and new himself have died.
From this time on he lived all his life here except twelve years, which were spent in Omaha. He was married at Port Huron, Michigan, February 22, 1877, to Miss Amanda Fitch, who with their three children survives him. These children are Robert G. of Nevada, Mrs. Edna Rapp of Omaha and Paul F. also of Nevada. His father died in 1891 and his mother in 1905. Mr. Kelly was in early years of his active life here engaged in several businesses being associated at one time with E. W. Lockwood in the grain and stock business and again with L. H. Beckler of Cambridge. In his later years since his return here following the death of his father, he has been engaged upon the home farm.
Mr. Kelly was the last survivor of his father's family, a family that have always been very highly regarded in this community. He was himself a man of many friends, and his own family are also honored and esteemed. He was widely known and will be most kindly remembered. His funeral is conducted from his late residence this afternoon, by Rev. W. P. Payne.
