George Louis Gottschalk, 92, of Nevada, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Windsor Manor in Nevada.

George was born October 24, 1924, in Chicago the son of Alfred and Anna (Kaese) Gottschalk. He graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1942 and served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946. George was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Neff on September 22, 1945, in Chicago. He worked as a mechanic for GM/Cadillac in Chicago, Container Corporation of America and retired from Pro Wrench. In 1990, the couple moved to Nevada.

George was a member of Family of Faith Church and the Nevada Golden K. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed square dancing and camping. George loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their many activities.

George is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Nevada; his children: David Gottschalk of Green Bay, WI, Liz (Bob) Meimann of Nevada and Tabitha (Don) Aanonson of Cambridge; his grandchildren: Nathan (Amanda) Gottschalk, Julia (Jacob) Wostrel, Jill (John) Snitko, Abby Nunez, Andrew (Carly) Meimann, Beth (Kevin) Ferguson, Stephanie (Casey) Unruh, Paul (Cailyn) Aanonson, Laura (Grant) Severson and Hannah Gottschalk; his 23 great-grandchildren; his brother, Warren (Barbara) Jacobson of Chicago, IL; and his sister, Joyce (Vince) Pisani of Chicago, IL.

George was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy Gottschalk; his brother, Robert Gottschalk; his sister, Margie Hambly; a grandson, Aaron Gottschalk; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Wostrel.

Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment of cremated remains will follow at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family and charities will be determined at a later date.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
