Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Sandra (Jensen) Nelson, 77, of Ames, passed away on March 28, 2017. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Ave., Ames, IA 50010. There will be a Committal Service on Saturday, April 8 at 9:00 a.m. at Ames Municipal Cemetery. A gathering time of special music selected by Sandi will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 516 Kellogg Ave., Ames, IA 50010.

Sandra (Jensen) Nelson, was born to Virgie (Larson) Jensen and Elmer Jensen on June 27, 1939 in Ames, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Nelson, two children, Michele Steppe, Hendersonville, NC, Gregory Nelson, Eagan, MN and two grandchildren, Logan and Ashlie Steppe, Hendersonville, NC, two siblings, Donna (Verne) Tanner, Jr., Ames, IA and Virginia (Charles) Jewell, Jewell, IA, and sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-law Jerry Nelson.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church and will be used for sheet music for the choir or the sound system.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
