OBITUARY

MRS. SARAH PEARL

Mrs. Sarah A. Pearl died at her home in the extreme north part of the city about noon of Thursday, February 18, 1909 aged 81 years, 2 months and 7 days. Mrs. Pearl whose maiden name was Cook, was born at Porter, Maine, December 11, 1827, grew up and was married there and came soon after to Illinois, where the family resided until 1870, then they came to Story county and made their home in Richland township. After living there for about ten years they removed to Cherokee and thence to California; but Mr. Pearl having died, Mrs. Pearl returned a few years ago to Nevada, where she has since resided. She had her home here with her son John E. and near her daughter, Mrs. Joshua Bryant. She also has sons Jesse and E. W. in California, and grandsons, Maurice Pearl and Byron Wood in Oklahoma. The funeral will be conducted from the Baptist church at two o'clock Saturday by Rev. Shoemaker of the Christian church.
