Robert D. Middleton, age 66, of McCallsburg, died at his home on Thursday, February 2, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Cornerstone Church of Christ in rural Zearing, with Pastor Charles Ryan, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5-7 p.m.

Born July 11, 1950, in State Center, Iowa, Robert Dean Middleton was the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Davis) Middleton. He grew up in Rhodes and Collins, Iowa, and graduated from Collins High School.

On February 16, 1984, Bob was united in marriage to Connie Stout in Chicago, Illinois. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Sibyl. Bob worked as a carpenter for many years, retiring in 2013.

Bob was a faithful member and elder of Cornerstone Church of Christ in rural Zearing. He enjoyed fishing and preaching the gospel. His family gave him special joy.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; his daughter, Sibyl Brunscheon of Story City; two granddaughters, Jaina and Lily; two brothers, Michael Middleton of Des Moines, and Carl (Cheryl) Middleton of Bradenton, FL; three sisters, Joyce (James) Durbin of Marion, Linda (Ronald) Schulz of Collins, and Carol Middleton of Santa Ana, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Bob and his family.
