OBITUARY

Mrs. McCready Dies

The death of Mrs. J. E. McCready occurred this forenoon April 12, at her home on Elm street, Nevada, Iowa the effects of a stroke of paralysis, which occurred Sunday morning, about 2 o'clock. She had been ailing for several days but did not seem materially worse till about the time of the attack. Going out into the yard where Mr. McCready was she exclaimed "Oh I'm so sick", sank to the ground and soon lost consciousness. The physician who was summoned pronounced her affliction paralysis, affecting almost her entire body. She did not fully regain consciousness and died as stated.

Elizabeth Saunders was a native of Indiana. She came to Story county with her mother and sisters about the year 1856 and here was married to Nathaniel Tichenor, who after the war broke out went to the front with Company K of the 32d Iowa Volunteer Infantry, and was killed January 1865 in the battle of Nashville. Mrs. Tichenor devoted herself to the rearing of her son, Channing Tichenor and in 1886 she was she was married to J. E. McCready with whom she has since resided at Cambridge and Nevada. Her age was nearly seventy years. The funeral will be held Wednesday at two o'clock, She was a worthy woman and dies regretted.
