Death of Mrs. DeWitt.

Mrs. Maryett DeWitt died at her home in this city last Saturday morning in the 56th year of her age. She had been a resident of Nevada for the past two years and had monthly been living in the Simmons home near the school house. The cause of her death was dropsy, and her condition had for sometime been recognized as hopeless. Her maiden name was Piper and she was born in Wisconsin in April, 1854. She was married at Boone in 1880, and her husband died ten or a dozen years ago. She leaves two married daughters and her son Jay DeWitt of this city, and a sister here Mrs. A. B. Moore*. her funeral was conducted Monday afternoon from the Presbyterian church by Rev. Hunter, assisted by Rev. Bachelor.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. A. B. Moore" was the half-sister of Maryette DeWitt, Amelia Estella (Piper) Moore, wife of Andrew B. Moore.
