OBITUARY

Death Again Visits the Lash Home

Baily Orrin Lash, aged seven years, died Sunday morning, February 6th, a the home of his mother, Mrs. Fanny Bailey Lash at First Avenue South, Nevada. The death of the little lad was not a surprise, for he had been ill many weeks and had developed pulmonary tuberculosis; but sorrow is none the less that it had been known to be inevitable. The child being the younger of the mother's pair and never strong, had never grown out of her tender care, and her struggle with loneliness will be severe. "My loved ones seem going pretty fast," the bereaved woman says, for her husband, Mr. Orrin Lash, passed away only eleven months ago. But happily there is much left to live for. Holly Margaret, a promising daughter of eleven years and the patriarch of the home, Grandfather Geo. Lash, still claim thought and care and collateral kindred as well as friends are ready with sympathy and extended hand. Mrs. Lash's sister, Mrs. J. W. Sutherland of Baraboo, Wisconsin, who is visiting in Story county, was with her when the child's life went out. Other sisters living are Mrs. M. M. Applegate south of Nevada, Mrs. Jesse Densmore of Santa Ana, California, Mrs. G. W. Gay of Howard, Illinois, and Miss Mary Bailey of Manning, Iowa, which town is also the home of one brother, Mrs. Walbridge Bailey; and all within reasonable distance are at the same scene sorrow. The funeral is conducted at the Lash home at two o'clock today and interment is in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.
