OBITUARY OF L. A. HANSON

Lars Augustine Hanson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hanson, was born July 23, 1887 at the Hanson farm home 5 miles southwest of Story City and died at the Story City Memorial Hospital October 17, 1969 at the age of 82 years. He was a farmer and lived on the home place until his marriage November 30, 1916. to Lena Charlson. Most of his married life was spent on the farm they purchased north east of Randall, Iowa.

They had five children: LeRoy of Baytown, Texas; Orlin of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Irvin of Warrendale, Pa.; Arnold of Story City; and Edith (Mrs. Howard Fleming) of Roland. There are nine grandchildren, and three brothers, Cornelius and Clarence of Story City, and Sam of Albert Lea, Minn. all of whom survive him. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 21, 1969 at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, Iowa with the Rev. William Gregorson officiating, with burial in the Story City Municipal cemetery. Emmet Olson, soloist, sang "In Heaven Above" and "Abide with Me" accompanied by Lloyd Lockhard, organist. Pallbeareres were Milo Olson, Ben Anderson, Burnice Jacobson, Harold Sydness, Lawrence Donhowe, and Russell Voga.

We wish to express our sincere thanks for the many acts of kindness shown us during the illness and death of our dear husband and father. Thanks for the flowers and other memorials given in his memory, to Pastor Gregorson for his visits and comforting words, to the doctors and nurses for his wonderdul care at the hospital, for the music furnished by Emmet Olson, soloist, and Lloyd Lockhart at the service, to the pallbearers, and to the ladies who served the lunch.
