From Nevada Representative January 7, 1910 (page 5)

Orville Ray Smith, the twenty months-old boy of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smith died Tuesday afternoon at the result of one of the diseases incident to childhood. The fact that the father is ill with small pox and the whole family under quarantine rendered the death of the child singularly painful, and occasioned also the report that the death was the result of small pox, which was not the fact. The little boy was buried in the Nevada cemetery, and much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family. For the deeds of kindness done in such a time Mr. Smith telephones a request that we make the grateful acknowledgements of himself and family. Mr. Smith is getting along very well with his illness but is having considerable trouble with one eye, which was too early exposed to the light. The other members of the family are just coming down with troubles that represent perhaps a combination of vaccination and exposure to small pox.
