Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Diane Litchfield, 59 years, 9 months, and 22 days, passed away November 15, 2016 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at a later date with inurnment at Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.
Diane Louise Litchfield was born January 24, 1957 to Charles Edward and Janis Louise (McKim) Litchfield in Ames, Iowa. She lived all of her life in Ames and attended Ames public schools, graduating from Ames High School in 1975. Diane was employed by the Story County Clerk of Court for many years and retired in 2015. Diane took great pride in her job and was always conscientious – not only about being there, but being punctual.
Diane was an angel to her family in that she became her father’s keeper for many years and was his emotional rock when he needed a lift or when he needed assistance in all matters of daily life! Diane was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan, as was her dad, and they shared those many times listening to a radio for that World Series event to happen. She finally got to cheer them on to a championship during this last season of her life before joining her Dad for more cheering together in Heaven.
Diane’s big passion in life were her pets. She adored each and every one of her cats and the many dogs she had in her life. Her family of dogs and cats were her close family and got her though many trying times.
Diane loved her brothers and they were her bond with the reality of how life is to be cherished for what we have and to make it all wonderful in this life.
Sincerity, helpfulness, cheerfulness and a conscientious life are a small part of the living memorial that Diane Louise Litchfield leaves us all and the members of her family and a host of friends.
She is survived by her mother, Janis, and her step-father, Douglas Diehl of Nevada; her three brothers, Mark Litchfield of Nevada, David Litchfield and his wife, Sara Hilton, of Kelley and Kenneth Litchfield and his wife, Sharon, of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Oh...and her pet family, Bella, Tilde and Simba (Dad’s cat) - they will be taken good care of Diane. Rest in peace and be assured, Diane, as all will be fine because now you’re fine in Heaven’s Place!
