Ames, IA. - John Goodale Jessup, 91, of Ames died of pneumonia Saturday at the Green Hills Health Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ Congregational, of which he was a member. Burial will be at the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Jessup was born in Oswego, Ill., and lived in Ames since 1970. He was a retired commercial beekeeper, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Ames Kiwanis Clubs and the Iowa Beekeepers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; a son, John of Boyne City, Mich.; four daughters, Margaret Jarvie of London, England, Mary Beth Lieberknecht of Ames, Ellen Tanck of Bellevue, wash., and Jane Orman of Thinesville, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m., when the family will be present, at Adams Funeral Home here. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Tues 20 Aug 1991.
