Obituary from Memorial Services of Iowa, Ankeny, Polk County, Iowa:

Kelly Ann Davenport, 58, of Huxley passed away peacefully October 8, 2016.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., October 13, 2016 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held 5 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016, also at the funeral home.

Kelly was born October 2, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Martinsdale St. Mary's Community High School. She attended DMACC, and graduated with an Associate's degree. She then attended airline school in Dallas, TX, and later went to work as a travel agent.

A few years later, she returned to Iowa, and went to work for Wayne Larson Collision Specialist in Ames, as an office manager for 33 years.

She married Kent Davenport November 19, 1984, and they made their home in Huxley.

She enjoyed gardening, decorating, spending time with her family, an occasional trip to the casino, and relaxing at their cabin in Ely, Minnesota.

Kelly is survived by her husband Kent; her mother Aileen Strable; her brother Pat (Diana) Strable, a sister Sherry Strable, mother-in-law Kay Thompson, sister-in-law Lisa (Mark) Beers, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father Jack Strable, a nephew Caleb Strable, father-in-law Russell Davenport, and a brother-in-law Kirk Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Taylor Hospice House or American Cancer Society.
