Death of Mrs. Raimer
Mrs. Adeline Raimer died Wednesday morning at the home of her son Ed. Raimer on the Applegate farm south and west of Nevada. She was in her seventies and had lived in or near Nevada for many years. She was a member of the Stratton family and for the most of her married life she lived in Nevada township. Her husband died a number of years ago, and until the failure of her health she had kept house for her brother Al. Stratton in the south part of Nevada city. She had had several strokes of paralysis and her death was not unexpected. She was a very good Christian woman, the mother of a family and was esteemed by all who knew her. Her funeral is held today at the home of her son, and the interment will be in the Mullen cemetery.
From Nevada Representative March 2, 1908
MRS. ADELINE S. RAIMER.
Adeline Stratton Raimer departed this life February 25, 1908, at the age of seventy-five years, two months and nine days. She was born December 16, 1833 in Wayne county, Ohio; at the age of 18 years she was united in marriage to Mr. George Raimer of Allen county, Ohio; the husband having departed this life of January 17, 1896.
Mrs. Raimer lived in Story county about forty years. She was converted when a girl of fourteen years of age and from that time on she endeavored as best she knew to be an example of the faith she represented. She was not blessed with the riches of this world, but surely she was like a ripe sheaf of wheat, ready for the Master's sickle at any time.
Oft times she has said to her pastor and her aged brother, that she was just ready, watching and waiting for the coming of her Lord.
The funeral was held February 28, 1908, at the Evangelical church in the Mullen Settlement, the sermon being preached by Dr. Bunce.
