Obituary

LARS RULLESTAD

Lars Rullestad was born Feb. 24, 1877 at Fjare, Skaanevik, Norway, the son of Gunder and Gunhilde Rullestad and died Dec. 29, 1965 at the age of 88.

Educated in Norway, Mr. Rullestad had been a resident of Huxley since 1897.

On Jan. 10, 1901 he married Ingeborg Holm at Jewell The couple operated a farm near Jewell for 14 years before moving to a farm near Audobon, Minn. in 1915. They returned to Huxley in 1928 where they lived until their retirement and moved to Bethany Manor, Story City, in 1963.

Mr. and Mrs. Rullestad moved to a nursing home in Estherville in 1965.

Mr. Rullestad is survived by his wife, Ingeborg; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Tweedt, Estherville and Mrs. Maxine Nleson, Madison, Wis.; a son, Amer, Wadena, Minn.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard, who died in 1961 and Gurney, who died in 1962; six brothers, Jermund, Gunder, Esten, Jalmer, Sivert and Ingebrit and two sisters, Gunhilde and Mrs. Gurina Freeland.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, from the Palestine Lutheran Church, Huxley, with the Rev. Arnold F. Hanson, officiating. Burial was in the Lincoln Cemetery, Huxley.
