Obituary.

James Pascal Watson was born at Albia, Monroe county, Iowa, June 17, 1858, and departed this life through the accidental falling of well derrick June 15, 1908, lacking but two days of being 47 years of age. he was farmer boy until 21 years of age when he began drilling wells. He was married to Miss Ella Soper of Ames on October 25, 1889. He and his wife were engaged in the mercantile business in Ames for twelve years. From Ames he removed to Prairie City and from ther to Winterset where he engaged in the hotel business. From Winterset he removed to Sheldahl were he again engaged in the well drilling business, and where he met his sudden death.

He leaves a wife, four brothers, and two sisters to mourn their loss. C. M. and R. H. Watson, of Albia, brother of the deceased, were in attendance upon the funeral. Also James Netterfield, D. Ringenburg and the Mesdames E. D. Philips, A. M. Smith, G. W. Grigsby, E. Ahlbre and J. Colson of Sheldahl were present. The funeral was conducted at the Christian church in Ames by the pastor, F. D. Ferrall, Wednesday, June 17, at 2:30 o'clock. The interment was made in the new addition to the Ames cemetery.

Mr. Watson was a kind, temperate, jovial and agreeable neighbor and numbered his friends by his acquaintance.
