Roger Lawrence Turley, 67, of Harcourt, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 13, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Roger was born May 7, 1949, in Fort Dodge, the son of Lawrence and Dorothy (Yeager) Turley. He graduated from Rolfe High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Vicki Posey. Roger was involved with law enforcement and had been an officer on the Laurens Police Department. He had recently worked for Trinity Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Roger was involved with the IRCA Saddle Club and had been involved with the Dayton Rodeo. He also liked horseback riding and roping.

Roger was a member of the Harcourt Covenant Church in Harcourt, the Martial Arts Association and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Bourne movies, body building and collecting guns.

Roger will be remembered as a true Christian. He was very proud to be an ordained minister and always put others before himself. He was a hardworking family man and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. Rogers’s favorite bible text was Mark 16:16 “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
